    ARRRRRGGGGGHHH!!!!

I wasn't ever going to order a sportKilt! *gah*

Let's see, what makes the best sense? $100 for a Sportkilt in the California tartan, or $150 to Rocky for the material and 40 hours of labour to make my own?

You have the skills to do it. There is much more pride in making a cilt yourself. (B)

Yeah, but I've got two kilts in the pipeline in front of the California Tartan one! It'll be *months* before I get around to stitching one up.

    sigh

I just called 'em. they think they'll have the California Tartan sportkilts out at the Highland Games this summer, so I'll have a chance to check 'em out, hopefully at Campbell in about six weeks. The material is 8 ounce poly acrylic. 8 ounce is pretty light, but it's do-able during the summer hereabouts. And it's machine-washable, which is nice.

Whatever the case I'll surely buy a sash in it from them for my lady, 'cause I'll never in a million years get her to wear a tartan skirt....she won't wear the one I already got her, but a sash won't break that bank and I can talk her into wearing that once a year or so.

...$150 to Rocky for the material and 40 hours of labour to make [your] own - especially if the tartan from Rocky is a better quality.

You could wait a bit ...
Hey Alan; Amber and my kilts in the Cali will be here in three weeks or less (premier line of course) and I'll post pics with a review.
I saw their regular line Calis last week with the US Army tartan a few others, nice nice kilts but I have to have straps and buckles now.
Plus the black one I'll have next friday night ....

Jeez, I'm with you Alan....wasn't gonna order any more SportKilts...but a California tartan...hmmm.

But I'm confused by the option. Am I hearing it right James will do a SportKilt without elastic??

Am I hearing right that USAKilts offers kilts in the California tartan?

I'm so confused....can it be....."kilt poisoning?" The inability to think about anything else, yet still not understand what other kilted folks are talking about.....what branch of Hell have I descended into.....???

We DO have access to the California tartan in 16 oz wool.

It makes a nice "5 Yard Wool Kilt" for $350. If you don't know, our "5 yard wool kilt" is basically our Semi Traditional Model, but in wool. It's great for the guys in hotter climates who want wool, but don't want to sweat all day b/c of it. 5 yards keeps it pretty light, yet not TOO light that it lifts in every breeze. Let me know if you're interested!
