Does anybody know the brand Laird-Portch???
    Hello,

at first I want to thank you for this great forum. Iīm from Germany, 24 years old and an absolute newby to kilts.

Somebody offered me a kilt, but I have no clew if this is a "real" kilt.

Does anybody know something about the trade "Laird Portch of Scotland"? I have searched the web, but I only have found some women skirts with tartan... Can you tell me something about it. Do they produce kilts?

I have a (bad) photo of the skirt, but unfortunately I donīt know how to post it.

I hope you can tell me something about this brand.

    Have a nice envening.

    Michael

Sorry for my bad English, I hope you can understand my "problem"

    :welcome: from the Scottish Borders.

Yes, I have heard of Laird-Porch of Scotland. The brand name is or was associated with good quality ladies woollen jumpers and skirts but I've never heard of them producing clothes for men and I don't know whether the brand is still in production.

Gruss Gott Michael, from the Oberpfalz, Bayern.

Welcome to a world wide community. Take some time to look at some of the sponsors of this forum. You will learn a lot about kilts, and I'm sure you will find something you like and can afford.

You may want to check USA Kilts. The owner has created a German Heritage tartan that is in the colors of the German Flag, Black, gold, and red. I have a kilt in that pattern and it is very nice.

Does the top apron close from the left to right or form right to left?

Welcome, Michael, from West Texas. How long is the kilt from top to bottom? Take a digital photo and follow the instructions and post a picture here. It really isn't as difficult as it seems. (And there is nothing wrong with your English. If you want a good laugh, we'll post you something in German.)
