Behold, the power of the Kilt
Today I walked to the post office to mail my acceptance to Leeds, and I wore my Hunting MacLeod. Nothing odd about that, I walk around town kilted all the time. Of course, some times there's more reaction than others.

Today I got honked and waved at by a guy in a VW microbus, asked if I played the pipes at the post office, and pointed and laughed at by a guy in a military dress uniform.

The best was as I was walking back. I heard someone calling out behind me, it was a guy trying to identify the tartan. He mentioned he had seen a guy in a MacBeth tartan at the grocery a couple weeks back. Well, that was me, too :) So he invites me to the bar, which was a block back and where he had seen me from, and buys me a Guiness. We drank, talked about kilts, Scots, Celts, Romans, tartans, etc. for a while. All in all a good time.

    Cheers,
    Nick

Well, except for the military guy, it sounds like a pretty good day! (My personal favorite kind of beer is "free beer.")

That's a pretty neat story. That guy in the dress uni needs his teeth fed to him.

Ah, maybe he's got a little case of PTSD. Let's try retraining first!

    Great story!
Hooray for the good people of Michigan! I think the mean guy must have been from someplace else! :)

The fellow in uniform did not deserve to wear it  Too many brave men fought & died in kilts. He should not be pointing fingers & laughing. OK I'm on a :soapbox: again, let me get off :sorry:

But free beer is always good :toast: Did you refer him here:?: Maybe we can get another man kilted :scotland:
