This is our opportunity to say THANK YOU to Gene and Ruth McCracken for hosting us so many times over the past two summers at the MacNaughton clan tent. I've gone out on a limb and mentioned to Ruth that X-Marks will supply the food and drinks at the tent for Campbell. If nobody signs up to bring anything, then I'm good for it, but I hope that those of us who've enjoyed Gene and Ruths hospitality so many times, will chip in with something.

Cooler with soft drinks and/or water (about 4 6-packs)
Cooler with beer (about 4 6-packs)
Salmon...perhaps a smoked salmon pate, and crackers, enough to last all afternoon
Shortbread cookies

Any other suggestions? Lordy, maybe I'll make a haggis.

I will prepare a combined tartan (X-Marks and MacNaughton) "Certificate of Appreciation", framed... to give to Gene and Ruth. I hope that everyone can come by in the morning and sign it. Perhaps Piper George will lead a procession of the Rabble down the row of Clan Tents, so that we can present the Certificate properly!


I understand that aafter the Games there will be another activity..but I'll let the Host and/or Hostess of that activity announce it here. Oh, and....

There will be birthday cake. Mmmm-Hmmmm. I PROMISE.

Come and cheer on Tim C and Yours Truly as we seek to devastate the men's "C" class in the Heavy Events, all in the name of XMarkstheScot!

OK - we have the Salmon, crackers & cream cheese covered. :)

Alas, I'll be up in Reno that weekend.:( Party on, and hoist a caber or cold one on me.:p

Fun, games, music, food, friends... sounds like a Burns Supper gone summer picnic.

I hope Piper George can play loud enough to be heard over all the other piping competition that goes on at the games. I'll be there with something non-alcoholic to slake the thirst, but will likely have to spend some time at another clan tent, as well. The biggest challenge of the day probably will be to keep Tim C from hurting himself and jeopardizing his other big June event. :)

And I'll bring the beer!...and the cooler with ice.

The F-H.C.A.G. and I will bring those little "Aussie Bites" oat cakes from Costco. They seem appropriate.

Mark your Calendars! The F-H.C.A.G. , myself and Children will be the Loud Mcleod family-you won't miss us (though afterwards you may miss your vision :D )

Looks like I'll be able to make it after all, family is going to So Cal without me. Are Alan and Tim competing? If so, what time? Wouldn't want to arrive late for that.

Yes, we are both competing. We start at 9. The hammer (which is Alan's best event) is usually one of the first events so I'd recommend watching that!
