looks good mate, whats the loop thingy (don't know term) where you tension the cord? looks like bone? or horn?

It's shed deer antler cut cross ways. There was already a hole in the center where the marrow is, I just knotted length leather on both sides to hold the "button" then ran the remaining length through two holes in the flap and knotted it agian. I used the deer antler again for the small light colrede bits on the tie ends.

Looks awesome. I hope mine turns out just as good looking as yours!

I have a piece of hair on sheep skin, angora I was told, that is if I can figure out a way to comb it out some!?

My #2 diy sporran has its issues.... any suggestions for making the back more stiff/solid? I have three pieces of boning added to it, no to much help.
-
The back of mine aren't really stiff, is there a particular reason you want it to be? I have a mass made sporran with a stiff back and I think it is just a piece of cardboard sandwiched between 2 pieces of leather. Another idea would be to use a really heavy piece of leather, like a 6-8 oz. thickness.

I used canvas, and it flops down in the back, so the back becomes the top, which isn't what I want of it.
