    Tweed kit at Burns Dinner
    Greetings all, 31 January, 842amMST

This is me in the tweed kit that I completed. Got the kilt finished on Friday night, and the Dinner was last night. I have posted pix of the jacket before, as I had all that done toward the end of summer.

The tweed is Shetland wool and fairly coarse. The layers want to stick together when standing from sitting, so I am constantly having to smooth things out a little.

Oh well, I could be living under a bridge eating out a garbage dumpster......

    Regards aye,

Thanks for the photos. They really show your hard work. That's a great look. I havn't thought about a tweed kilt with matching jacket, but now I'm rethinking that. I looks great.

Thanks very much. I went back and looked at your earlier jacket thread. I am in awe. I trust you will get all of the sewing work you want from these pages.

Looks fantastic! How many yards of material went into the complete outfit?

    Greetings all, 31 January, 1025amMST

Thanks all for your kind comments. The kilt has a bit over four yards in it. The Argyll, waistcoat and bonnet, took about three, if I remember right.

Had many nice comments at the Dinner last night as well. The Boise event has about five hundred in attendance with both of the big bands from Boise providing all the close-in pipes and drums that any son or daughter of Scotland could ever hope for.

One old Scot gent who always gives the "Address to a Haggis", inspected me very closely and commented nicely about my workmanship. He's not a man to be overly impressed either.

Took a cursory look at my necktie and simply stated "Shaw". He would know, being a Davidson.

Not to be bragging mind you..........I do what I can.

Be watching elsewhere, as our Brother "Macthenife" will be posting up pix from last night as well. He is in the Lovat green Argyll and waistcot that I made for him.

    Fide et Fortitudine, aye!
