It seems a little presumptuous of me to be starting a thread on the Premiere Scottish Event In North America, but I'll be mostly or entirely off line for the next three weeks and just wanted to say 'See you there' July 30 and 31.

I'll be the guy in the kilt. :) Have a good July everyone!

In support of your excellent efforts regarding the Canadian Highland Regiments, I have actually traded in my SLR and purchased a digital camera, so I will indeed take some photos of the Stormont Dundas and Glengarry Highlanders. But I urge others to do so as well since I'm posting here from behind a firewall of nuclear war thickness and (in the interests of self-preservation from spending every waking minute at a keyboard) personally lacking a home PC, may not find a way to get the photos I take out onto the internet. I'm just saying.

Scocha will be playing at Glengarry. A really good band with a mix of Scottish folk and rock.

The Games of course came off with beautiful weather and ridiculously large crowds- and that was just in the drinking areas. But when they mass the bands in Maxville, it is a massive massing I can assure you.

For you BoldHighlander, I managed to obtain some photos of Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry Highlanders (reservists) in the course of a kilted tug-of-war battle with their Ottawa-based Cameron Highlander rivals (to my knowledge, they did not appear in full uniform). Now I'm faced with the aforementioned technical problem of actually posting the photos, plus the added worry that I don't know their individual current service status, and don't want to post things of people who might be going on active duty. I did take some photos with that in mind and will check my paranoia with my military friends for their opinons. This may take a while. If Kilts and t shirts will not fit the desired bill, let me know in the meantime!
