Gentlemen please tell me, is this how it starts?

I was walking through the store picking up odds and ends for the wife when I came across a cool looking pair of boots when I thought "Hey, those would look great with the kilt." (that I only just ordered) Then I found myself browsing for a belt. The next thing I know, I'm online parusing through different sporrans, kilt pins etc. before I realise (dear God help me) I'm accessorizing! :shock:

Is this normal? Should I see a doctor or something?

That is totally normal.
I bought a sweater when I was saving to buy my first kilt because I thought it would look with a kilt.
I also bought a pair of shoes at the same time because I wanted something that would go with the kilt.
Since buying my kilts I have bought a lot of shirts and other things because they go with kilts. I never color coordinated in trousers, but I do it in kilts.

For over 18 years I wore a uniform (police)and before that for 2 years in college(security) and the 3 years HS(ROTC and Band). I NEVER worried about what to wear. Days off were black pants, black shoes, black socks and solid color shirt (mostly dark blue or black((catch the theme!)).

When I quit the PD and went into 'normal' society I kept the theme BUT added a few more colors to the shirts. That was 4 years ago.

In November I stated wearing a kilt full time on weekends. With this it is now time to color cordinate! Now on Saturdays I stand infront of the closed saying "Which kilt and which shirt will go well?" One Saturday I stood there doing this for about 3 or 4 minutes and my wife asked what was the problem. Not thinking I told her. The next thing I know she is almost rolling on the floor laughting at me. Her question was "Kind of different isn't it?"

Now I cruise the men's wear always looking for that perfect shirt to go with the newest kilt...

evrything I buy now has to go with one of my kilts.
shoes , belts, buckles, t shirts, shitrs ,sox .
wallets(will they fit an a sporran) the price of the kilts is not the problem it's all the other stuff that goes with it, I even thought of getting a new digital camera, 'coz mine wont fit in my sporran.
also got 4 new jackets that look goot with a kilt, 2 are leather.

Murphy, sorry, but these are clear signs of kiltaddiction.

There's no easy way to say this, but it's incurable, inoperable and often permanent. It will rob you of your money, take over your life, possibily lead to allcohole problems, but will provide great happiness while the kilt, any kilt, remains on your body and greatly increase your self-esteem and turn you into a person who doesn't give a monkeys' what other people think.

You will be assimilated, resistance is futile!

(Un)Fortunately, this feeling will never pass. Your new clothes will be purchased because they look good with your kilts. You will be buying more kilts than pants/shorts in the near future.
