Wow! I just got in my saffron fabric and originally, I thought it too dark.
Then I saw Daneel's photo in the new pics on the log-in page and it is exactly the same colour!
Look how close they got the colour!
(Daneel; please forgive the use of your photo without permission?)
Now all I have to do is try to find some time to make a saffron kilt, so I can take my own pic! It won't look as good with me as the model instead of Daneel, but you gotta go with what you've got.

Nice colour Bear. It is poly/viscose material? How does it compare to your Canadian or Clan tartan material?

Whoops! I was so excited about the colour, I forgot eveything else!
It is poly/viscose and the same as the rest of my clan tartan and solid coloured poly/viscose.

Bear, you sound like a kid on Christmas morning. That is a great color! I'm sure it's going to make an awesome kilt.

It is a lovely colour, and Daneel wears the kilt well.

Nice pick-up buddy. In YOUR opinion, would it still maintain the "look" in the Grizzly cut (which I'm partial to) or would it morph into a more "ragged" appearance?

What I mean to ask is... is this mostly a traditional type of a look, or do you see it holding a place in a newer style. For me, it's a tough call.

I would hate to take an Irish tradition and inadvertantly mess with it... but I would REALLY like to give one a shot on-stage.

You should see the fringe I make with this stuff! It's hard to explain the way the light catches it. It's like all the colours the saffron can be, from yellow to brown, in the same spot all at once.
The solid coloured grizzly cuts have always looked cool but this colour will make an awesome grizzly cut!

I've also seen many wool tartan kilts that have a double fringe on the outside of the apron, so there is a precedant for more than one fringe on a traditional kilt.

That is a great colour. I've always though that saffron would be too yellow, but that is nice.
