I think you'll be ok, just for the simple fact that it's St. Patricks Day...On any other day, I would definitely wish you luck.

    Well Gents and Ladies,

It went pretty well. Two of the staff wanted pictures of me in my kilt, several students wanted to take pictures with their cell phones to post pictures of their wacky teacher on their MySpace page. Most were interested and polite.

Of course a few whistles from some of the boys at lunch, to which I responded,
"Sorry boys I'm married, you can't touch this".

I had one boy start to tell me that I had real b*lls to be wearing the kilt to school, then he realized who he was talking to and sort of just got quiet.

It was quite fun, Since one of the topics I teach is Biology, when students had questions one of my answers was, consider the male anatomy, is it designed for pants? I think not, and most of them agreed.

I appreciate the good thoughts and feedback. It was a very interesting day.

So the question is when can I "get away" with it again. I'm wondering if maybe Mondays ought to be Kilt Days.

    Cheers,

    Marshal Moroni

I wore kilts every day I substitute taught last year in local high schools, and the only time I had trouble was when I let the little punks bug me. If I ignored them, they lost interest in the whistles and catcalls, fast. The minute I showed them a single crack, they were on it.

Which is pretty sad, considering as the most important thing they could do that day was harrass the substitute in the skirt. sheesh. but I'd say that 90% of the interations were positive. I'd do it again.
