Good point! Nothing worth having is easy to get.

Ayin, I think you're on the right track. The more you're seen in your kilt by your employer and co-workers, the more your kilt will be considered to be "you". If it is seen as your preferred manner of dress, it will become more acceptable to everyone. I'm getting to the point where if I show up at a social event without my kilt, I hear "Where's your kilt?". People are starting to associate me with wearing the kilt, and I like that. It's kind of like a guy who shaves his head or grows a beard....everyone reacts to it, but it then becomes the norm for him and people stop commenting after awhile. I've just joined the local Scottish Society here in the desert, so I'll have even more opportunities to wear it around like-minded people. Wear it, enjoy it, and remember..........we're all going to be dead a long time! :)
Cheers!

Good for you for doing it, unfortunately some people will never accept anything that to them is outside the norm. What bothers me most about your exchange with the boss is that there is no reason given it's just a flat out no. Keep doing what you're doing and you never know what will happen in time.

O well, like they say;

One thing that I truly like about the Xmarks group is this. There has never been a lack of support for the various issues or conflicts that we all encounter. Every one of us meets with a different situation from time to time and it's nice to have the support of everyone. I truly wish my boss would not be so ignorant in his decision but there isn't anything more that I am willing to do about it at this time other than wearing my kilt on the weekends at work when i go in for OT, because there isn't a dress code on the weekends.
I just wanted to send a big thank you out to all of you for all the great comments and well wishes. None of you had to respond but you did. So again, thank you.
