The most delightful of seasons, except when it's not.
I will never forget the hot offshore winds evening of October 8, 2017 in Sonoma County, which exploded into a devastating wildfire that took our home and every other in my neighborhood HOA in less than 30 minutes, and more than 5,000 more over the next 24 hours. Still, I miss the Wine Country dearly. The bicycling routes in the valleys and Coastal range are almost unmatched, but that threat of fire never really disappears…
So, tonight, I'll be kilted for the Symphony in Las Vegas, where virtually EVERY home is some shade of desert sand, where the only green grass is "astroturf," and the best protection from wildfires is the absence of fuel.
