    new here

I am new to this and I have not worn a kilt yet. That makes me a kilt-virgin I suppose. I live in SE Florida and I work in the Florida Keys as an elementary teacher. I am thinking a kilt would be most comfortable in this part of the country. (BTW, Are kilts as addictive as tattoos and piercings?)

Recently, I took the evening and read the comments posted about who should or who should not wear a kilt. Interesting. Personally, I will wear whatever I feel like wearing!

The tartans in my Avatar are (clock-wise from top left): Inglis Modern, Galway County Irish, Wicklow County Irish, and Welsh National Ancient. (The photo in the profile shows the Rees of Wales.) It seems like the ones I am somewhat connected with are the ones I am attracted to. Is that psychosomatic or what?

You bet! I wore my kilt for the first time on my wedding day and I was hooked. I've been trying to figure out how to pay for another one!!!

BTW the Rhys tartan is sharp! I'll bet it would make an awesome kilt!!!

Beware! They are extremely addictive. I would have about a dozen on order right now if it weren't for the money.

WELCOME! Indeed even after reading the posts, you are finding that we somehow cannot, or better yet said will not, stop wearing kilts!

Once you put one on you can't just stop, they keep coming and coming as the checkbook gets smaller and smaller.

Again glad that you are here!

Hi there, and that's a sharp looking tartan. I like that a lot, actually.

    Come away in!

Welcome and "come away in" tae Xmarks, kilt_nave!

My wife used to live just up the road from you in Ft. Lauderdale & Plantation -- we're hoping to get down to Florida again sometime in the next year!

Have you been to either Sarasota or Dunedin? Both are Florida's "Little Scotlands", and both have their own tartans -- two more possibilities! And yes, I know what you mean about connections to tartans!

You'll be sure to want to introduce yourself to our other Floridian here, GatorUK, who is down the Keys!

    Again, welcome!

    Cheers,

    Todd

    Thumbs up Welcome!

Welcome aboard, Reece. I'm a recent joiner to this forum as well, and you will not find a friendlier or more informed bunch of folks than right here. This is one seriously fun place!
