First public appearance in kilt.
Hi all !
First a short presentation, I'm 58 of age, living near Montreal, Quebec and I work as a chemist for the federal governement. I'm a native french quebecer and very proud of it,
I always dreamed to wear a kilt but the price of a complete outfit was rather hight. Recently I futfilled that fantasy and dream and bought a jacobite kilt outfit with the province of Quebec tartan.
I'm wondering why I waited so long to get one ? I must admit that I feel extremly confortable in it and the look is unbelievable.
The next step and the biggest challenge was to go outside my home and go in public to see how people reacts seeing somebody wearing a kilt.
The place of choice was a local shopping mall where I go every week to do my grocery. As much as possible I tried to look as natural as possible despite the normal aprehension. To my great surprise I saw no direct reaction from the crowd. However I listen to some faint laughting after people passed me.
The most aggressive reaction was from a male motorist when I crossed the street. He told me the men in skirts must go in the gay district. Dumb people are everywhere.
