    The Suave Kilt Politic

    Hell-o all,

As befits all of us, I was seriously talking to some friends today regarding things that are important to each and every one of us.

One of the things that I mentioned was my fondness for kilts and the wearing thereof (obviously). When it was mentioned from someone else that I wear the kilt because of the "Kilt Politic". With questioning looks on everyones face, he rephrased the comment "yes the kilt makes you look suave".

I, believe it or not, was speechless.

My favorite was when a buxom young women who couldn't have been out of high school told this paunchy middle-aged man with white hair who was sitting in a wheel chair that he looked really "hot and sexy" in a kilt. 8-)

I wasn't interested of course, but it sure did wonders for my ego!

Whenever this is brought up, I think of how I got my first kilt. A number of my female friends put together a "kilt fund" for me and brought me to Steve. And people say the kilt has magnetism!

It always makes me feel great when I get a complement while kilted-although it should be noted that I *rarely* get them if I'm not!

Bryan...and it seems the mid-20-somethings *really* notice the kilt, too...

I almost never receive compliments, kilted or otherwise (probably has something to do with the fact that I look like a crazed serial killer with my bald head and wide shoulders... but I digress), but on the rare occasions that I do hear a compliment it is always by a young female who thinks it's "hot" or a middle aged gentlemen that things it's "classy and dignified". What that says about the generation in between is beyond me. Eitherway, I walk proud in my kilt knowing that somewhere, someone thinks I look either hot or classy... or maybe even a little of both.
