Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman Reeling
I came across this clip on You Tube, from the wonderful movie "Indiscreet," starring Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant. At around the 1:47 mark there is a delightful scene of the assembly dancing an eightsome reel

The costuming is quite good, as there are no white hose to be seen anywhere!

This is a wonderful movie, one I watch whenever it is on TCM and of course the ball scene is one of my favourites, even though Cary Grant did not know the steps he did learn the cardinal rule of Scottish Country Dancing, that is "If you end up where you are supposed to that's all that matters."

Great clip! I saw at least three men kilted there, and got to see an example of Cary Grant's vaudeville dancing style! I even got to feel like him when he got lost in the steps, a first for me.

I was never a big fan of old melodrama, but the older and more mellow I get, the more they grow on me. But honestly - did people ever really speak like that?
The dance was fun - thanks for posting it.

Rex.

I enjoyed that clip! I also like most of these old classic movies. But, sometimes I remember that most everyone in the movie is dead and I change the channel to cheer up.
