Kilt loving woman in the making
This evening I was over at my parents house to watch a movie. Having recently moved out, my 8 year old sister has been going through some major seperation anxiety and I try to go over there a few times a week to spend time with her and the rest of the family. Well, my mother really dislikes my wearing of kilts so out of respect for her I tend to avoid wearing one when around her. Therefore, I was wearing short and a t-shirt.
Tonight, as I was leaving, my little sister yells out at me: "next time I see you I want you to wear a kilt!!!" I asked her if she like kilts and she says that she does. My mom says that if she turns out to be a rebel, I am the one to blame:-)

I'd re-phrase that...
If she turns out to be a rebel, you get to take part of the credit!!!

I believe most parents want their offspring to succeed in life and be accepted. But very socially conservative people can have a hard time with this.... but it is possible to reach an understanding. There are some essays at
http://www.kiltmen.com/wives.htm
that may be of help.

I couldn't help myself. I know, I know, the theme song is in another thread. I promise, I won't do it again. This fits so well in this sibling story, I felt I just had to try. Someone in the bunch had to. Why not me?
You know Moms will stand by their rebels as well as any others.
My Mom quipped last month as I walked into her room in my UK Survival, "Well, there's the daughter I never had." It was her first time seeing me in a kilt. It was funny.
Your sister will look up to you forever. Even sisters can sing the praises of an elder brother! Wear the kilt. Here's your temporary new theme song.
See the way he walks down the street / Watch the way he shuffles his feet
My, he holds his head up high / When he goes walking by / He's my guy
When he holds my hand, I'm so proud / 'Cause he's not just one of the crowd
My baby's always the one / To try the things they've never done / And just because of that, they say
He's a rebel and he'll never ever be any good
He's a rebel 'cause he never ever does what he should
But just because he doesn't do what everybody else does,
That's no reason why I can't give him all my love
He's always good to me,
Always treats me tenderly
'Cause he's not a rebel, oh no no no
He's not a rebel, oh no no no, to me
SAXOPHONE SOLO
If they don't like him that way, / They won't like me after today
And I'll be standing right by his side when they say
He's a rebel and he'll never ever be any good
He's a rebel 'cause he never ever does what he should
But just because he doesn't do what everybody else does,
That's no reason why we can't share a love
He's always good to me
Good to him, I try to be
'Cause he's not a rebel, oh no no no
He's not a rebel, oh no no no, to me
Oh! (He's not a rebel, oh no no no)
He's not a rebel, oh no no no
He's not a rebel, oh no no no
(repeat and fade out)
Song title is: He's a Rebel
I got this from Lyrics Freak.com
The song is by Gene Pitney and was performed and popularized by The Crystals in 1963. I don't know who owns the copyrights.

Reason: spell first
Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?
