Regimental?
Ok, I am fighting my inner alarm and asking this anyway....
What is the line of thinking on the whole regimental/non-regimental wearing of the kilt? What is the tradition? What are the pros/cons?
I am new to being kilted and just am not sure about how that all works....
Anyone have anything to add? I'd appreciate some insight...
Dave

Tradition is to go regimental. The pros/cons are pretty basic: you gain freedom and comfort, but risk exposure. Rule of thumb: go regimental unless you know you're going to be around high winds or small children.
If you're nervous about going regimental, then try going commando.

Dave, it is a matter of personal choice. Go with whatever feels right for you.
If you click on the word Search, up there in the NavBar menu, and type regimental, you will get about 390+ returns.

I'll say this, once you start going regimental, its hard to go back. If for whatever reason, I am not regimental in my kilt, I settle for very loose boxers.
Best regards,
Jake

kilt pin
If going regimental just make sure to wear a heavy kilt pin low on the right hand side of the apron to keep it all down. That's what it is for anyway.

you know it kinda defets the purpose to wear unrestricting clothing just to be restricted by the under roos. I prefer to free ball no matter what I wear.

my 2 cents...
I wore pants ( hte equivalent of non-regimantal) for until about two years ago. My wife and I had been trying to hav a child for years until I started wearing the kilt almost full-time ( about a year and a half ago).
I now have a beautiful 3 month old son, concieved without any medical assistance.
basically, regimental is the way to go. Keeps "the boys" in proper working order!

the only time I dont go regimental is when I have to go to physical therapy. I usually wear shorts, but on the odd times I go in a kilt I put on some boxers because, well, I think I get thrown out of there if I didnt lol
