Dye in the Water While Washing Kilt Hose
I learned the hard way to hand wash my kilt hose after "shortening" a lot of them on the "gentle" cycle of the washing machine.
I've noticed that the water I soak the hose in often colors with dye. The hose don't seem to fade, but the water definately colors.
Washing with a little bit of Woolite in the sink. Don't think its that.
Just wondering if this is "normal?" Doesn't seem to noticeable effect the hose color - yet.
I don't save the cardboard for the hose and they come from a few different manufacturers. Don't know who made what pair to see if its just one factory or all of them. Suspect the later since its so common.
Am happy that hand washing leaves a much softer hand to the hose that haven't been in the washer. Just wonder if I'll soon have "weathered" hose?
Thanks for any feedback.
