What to Do with Tartan Flashes?

I've decided to not wear tartan flashes anymore.

Are there any other uses I could put these flashes to instead of throwing them away?

Well, they make wonderful . . . ? I don't wear them much either except on formal occasions.

Save them, Ted; I once had a little hole in a kilt (a casualty from my smoking days) mended using spare material. You just never know . . .

    Bookmarks.

But anyway, despite a recent uprising against them, I think they still have their place as garters. Truly, I understand the too much matchy-matchy thing. But I don't think that alone is a reason to abandon them altogether.

Please don't make this issue another flat cap/white hose debate.

    Rex.

Book marks. Now that's a good suggestion.

Headbands, like we wore in the 60s.

Oh, you weren't around in the 60s? Then for you, retro headbands like they wore in the 60s.

    Cool

When my Flashes start to get a wee bit past their best, I use them as sleeve garters when I have to wear cuffs and links at formal occassions, they help keep my cuffs at the appropriate length. I also find that they add a certain flair to a rugby shirt and kilt outfit. Waste-not-want-not.

Rex, you beat me to it. Bookmarks, first thing I thought of when I read the title of the thread.

I am with you. I don't mind them at all, have them in one form or another for most of my real tartan kilts, but don't always wear them.

Tee hee, I have about two-thousand books in my personal library that I have been collecting since 1987 or 88, but their all digitized and on my computer.

I tried wearing the hose with just the elastic garter,
And no one said anything about it.

I guess I'll either make flashes, or get garter ties. I wanted medium bleu, maybe even sky blue, but also some other colors. It might be more pracktical to make flashes and have one pair of good garter ties.

I also guess that I'll just put the tartan flashes away.
