An after work project for the kilt.
I am not sure if this has been done before but I thought of it today while I was at lunch.
This is a basic kilt hanger that can accommodate those that have tanks or if you want to hang multiple SportKilts on one hanger.
Materials List:
1. Suitable piece of wood, cedar would be nice, at least big enough to provide enough material for the hardware.
2. Bicycle Hanger. The ones I chose are able to support 25 pounds.
3. Husky Medium Spring Clamps.
4. (2) Screws.
Assembly:
1. Cut wood to length. I cut mine to 21”, but you could make it longer to fit larger kilts. Just remember it has to fit inside your wardrobe closet.
2. Locate the center and drill a pilot hole for the Bicycle Hanger.
3. Screw in the Bicycle Hanger.
4. Locate the position for the Husky Clamps and mark with pencil.
5. With a tap or small steel drill bit make a pilot hole in the inside of the Husky clamp after you have removed the rubber sheath.
6. Using an appropriate screw secure the Husky clamp to the wood at the previously marked location.
7. Attach your kilt for a test run.
There are various ways to make this better, but I did this fast and without too much thought. I am sure you could use better wood that is perhaps rounded with a router bit, sanded really smooth, stained and finished. However, this was just a test run.
