It was a breezy St. Patrick's Day in Scotland but my saffron kilt proved up to the task.
I hiked up Dollar Glen, along the Cadger's Gate track. This is an old drovers' trail from the central lowlands over the Ochil Hills to Auchterarder. Cadgers were itinerant traders who sold goods to people in remote areas and it is said that they favoured the high route over the hills to avoid paying tolls on the turnpike roads.
I only went part of the way up as it was really cold up there. I followed these two hikers back down towards Dollar. They had come across the top and reported that the snow was a foot deep near the summit. In the background is Castle Campbell, but it is currently covered in scaffolding and polythene so does not make a good photo subject.
That's all from my St. Pat's day!
