    Kilt Regrets?

What are the most embarrassing kilt related moments in your life?
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Sitting in the St Andrews Golf Club bar jawing and drinking with several prominent local members who were quite pleased to meet a jovial proper kiltwearing American, when one leans over and whispers to me, "You might consider pushin' down yer sporran as yer ______ are showin' 'neath yer kilt." Needless to say that deserved me buying another round to earn my way out of the embarrassment and the hearty laugh we all enjoyed. I think it endeared me to the fellas as I was roundly asked to come back 'round next time I was in town.

I think I will take them up on it. Hopefully soon.

Downtown Albuequerque - never expected updraft grates in New Mexico....wrong....walking past a downtown restaurant one of them grates put my kilt up around my head 360 degrees and the question was answered for dozens of diners. Nothing to do but keep on walking and rearrange the kilt properly.

When I sit, I usually push down on the sporran while sweeping the pleats underneath. I was attending a Celtic church in which one hand had a hold of the booklet of liturgies and the other a hymnal. I got careless getting up and sitting back down and the pastor got a glimpse (fortunately, only he). Later via email, he politely notified me to my embarrassment. He was kilted as well but he gets to stand most of the time.

I can only imagine how unpleasant that would be...but, I can not help but laugh to myself at the image of a kilted gentlemen running about a campfire trying to put out his kilt
