Night out
My wife and I were at a wedding reception last night. I wore my MacNeil tartan kilt, white shirt, tie and jacket. The bride loved it, said I clean up real nice I was the subject of more snapshots than the bride and groom I think and I sure got plenty of attention. Of course, there's always one in the crowd. Guy was wearing jeans and a flannel shirt with sports shoes. The guy asked me who I was trying to impress and I responded by saying it was a special occasion for the newlyweds and anyone with the slightest upbringing would dress up some, not like they were going to work. He avoided me the rest of the evening Over all the kilt was a hit with the ladies and my poor feet got a workout on the dance floor. Imagine dancing to country-western music in a kilt. No kilt checks, but lots of the ladies asked about what's worn under the kilt. My wife thought the whole thing was amusing and she had a great time as did I.

Great story Bubba, I'm afraid my wife wouldn't be amused, she doesn't like comments being made about me or by me of a "intimate' nature
I guess if you can't take those sot of comments you shouldn't be wearing a kilt.

bubba, good to hear you had a great time. I hope the newlyweds enjoyed having the Kilted man at their wedding. About the guy in the jeans and flannel shirt with sport shoes, some people have absoulutly no class at all. To top it off having him try and make comments your way, HA! Great comeback on your part. Like you said there is always one in the crowd, most of them are lacking in the brain department but they are good for a laugh!
Anyway Cheers to the Bride and Groom!

Hay, I wore my Macneil kilt last night also. Well, it's really my fathers, but I have possession of it right now. I own a Macneil great kilt, but those great kilts are much harder to put on. Anyway, my wife, daughter and I went to Shoneys to eat. I heard several people talking about that "guy in the kilt". One of the ladies working there was just standing there, looking at my kilt. After she walked away, I heard her telling another worker that she has seen them [kilts] on TV and in the movies, but she has never seen one in person. I really like the feeling I get when I wear the kilt out. Well, talk care all, and keep kilted!

Graham, my wife has a great sense of humor. She thinks some of the comments and questions are hysterical. She trusts me not to be crude or vulgar unless the occasion demands. Of course, if the occasion calls for it she has no problem either, like the time some woman got obnoxious and crude about if I had on underwear. My response was "there's a small bagpipe under there. Wanna blow?" It settled her hash but good and the wife nearly fell over laughing
Andrew, the idiot wouldn't have been invited if he wasn't a relative. He spent the entire evening alone at the bar guzzling beer and making stupid remarks to people. Every family has one I guess
vwstuart, mine is MacNeil of Barra Ancient. Nice looking tartan. I wear kilts all the time. Haven't put on trousers in a couple months. I get nice comments all the time, especially from the ladies. I suspect seeing the attention the ladies pay to a kilted man lots of guys wish they had the nerve to wear one A couple guys at the reception asked about it so who knows. I know it would be nice to see more guys try kilts outside of special events. And have you noticed you get better service wearing a kilt?
