Ex hire jacket
Hello and welcome to Xmarks!
I am looking at an ex hire Lomond Tweed Jacket and Vest. I've seen companies here in the US suggest that jackets made in the UK run small and they advise ordering a size larger. Can you tell me if this is true of your jackets?
Also, at 5'9" I am on the cusp between short and regular. Can you suggest which would likely be ideal?
Thanks in advance,
Michael

Hello,
I have four jackets.
All made in Scotland.
1 Bespoke...House of Labhran
2 Off-the-peg...Hector Russell & Rocky USA Kilts
1 tailored...Rocky USA Kilts
Each was ordered based entirely on my actual measurements, which just-so-happened to equate to my USA size, 40S.
They all fit me wonderfully, with indiscernible variance in chest, shoulder, sleeve length & tail.
I'm 5' 8.5"
I have only a few images on here. Nathan, McMurdo & Creadhubh can give you an objective assessment as to whether my rig fits.

Thanks, Ryan. I recall seeing some pictures of you and yes, your jackets are very sharp.

I bought one of the Lomond ex-hire jacket and waistcoats on ebay. The buttons feel a bit cheap and there are no inside pockets on the waistcoat or jacket. The condition of both jacket and waistcoat was very good. As for UK vs US sizes I don't know but the jacket was a 42R and I'm a 41 inch chest and 42R jackets tend to be a bit long on the arm on me. The vest and jacket fit me surprisingly well. All in all I'm very happy with the purchase.
On another thread I wrote about how I didn't like the modern kilt jackets then like a true hypocrite I promptly went out and made my ebay purchase!

Gentlemen,
Do you understand that this is the dedicated forum section of our advertiser MacGregor & McDuff?
Do you also understand that Mikilt was asking a direct question of that advertiser?
As it is currently 2am in Scotland may we give our advertiser a couple more hours of sleep and sufficient time to get to their office and respond.

You were off by more that 4 hours. It was 6.29 when you posted. Just saying.
