Winter Kilt
Every once and a while one gets lucky. Yesterday I was surfing around and found a kilt in my size on sale at Burnett's & Struth.
16 oz., 8 yd., Flower of Scotland tartan (House of Edgar). 250CAD
This one should extend my kilt wearing into the cooler (cold) weather.
Now to make peace with my wife.

FAR OUT!!!!!
Nice pick-up, buddy! You'll notice a HUGE difference from the casuals. "The boys" will appreciate the extra heavy wool too, once those winter winds get to blowing!

Aye...
Aye, Casey, you are quite the lucky lad for finding such a great deal -- and Freelander is correct, the Flower of Scotland tartan is based on the Gunn tartan in honour of the late Roy Williamson (may light perpetual shine upon him), since the Williamsons are associated with the Gunns.
Burnett & Struth tae boot -- I'm green  wi' envy! They are a GREAT company!
Cheers,
T.

What vendor did you get it from or was it an individual just getting rid of it? As for the weight, 15 oz should be plenty good for me. Much heavier and I wouldn't dare go into a heated building.

Bubba,
I actually found it on the Burnett's & Struth site and after a couple of emails and a phone call it was ordered, with a slight alteration.

He's got it!
It's good to see that you've understood and taken the posts on "tanks" for what they were intended!
It's not a "kilt heirarchy", but rather a data base for how to determine, appreciate and know what the "real thing" is... does... and looks like. Only with ownership can you finally see what it feels like.
Again, congratulations on an outstanding find! Good things DO happen to good people!
