Help? Your expert thoughts on our new facility...

Hi guys! I wonder if we could beg a few minutes of your time, to have a little crawl over our new kilt outfit builder facility? This just went online a few hours ago, and if it works well we'll use it much more widely. But right now we're desperate for feedback and suggestions. So who better...? :-)

As you'll see, the aim is to let customers customise their own outfits, in response to the perennial questions from people wanting to drop some items ("I already have a white shirt") or substitute others, but still gain from the package discount. We've spent months developing this, and hopefully it's all working.

I'll try to check back here occasionally. But as always, I'm afraid I'm just too busy (especially pre Xmas!) to do so often. So would really appreciate anything significant being copied/emailed directly to me at nick@scotwebshops.com

    Oh yeah, the web address:

Thanks all! And hope you all enjoy a merry kilted Christmas. Cheers!

    Nick

It looks good. You've got a list of every thing you need and that helps a lot, especially if your new to kilts.

    It looks good, I'm impressed.

I like the information on the correct way to wear the various items. It answers a lot of questions.

Sorry, but after a quick look I find it confusing, not intuitive enough even when trying to select a basic kilt.
Frankly, it would make me reach for the phone and want to talk to someone about an order.

    I like the concept.

I tried to change some of the options and the price was not being recalculated after changes.

I changed the kilt from the balmoral to the Top Value and the change did not take.

I changed the PC jacket to a crail and the change was accepted but the price did not change to reflect the change.

    I'm using Firefox browser.

Wow, lots of feedback already! One of our tech team is working on fixing Cavscout's issues already... (We think it's to do with changing the kilt, which for geeky reasons too arcane to explain was a last-minute mod; we think it maybe added an extra top-value kilt to your list, instead of replacing the balmoral.) It's amazing how even after masses of in-house testing, as soon as anyone else starts to use things like this new problems arise. That's why this sort of feedback is really helpful.

And cheers Graham... we're always happy to help by phone too! :-)

I know it well Nick. I build databases and spend many hours debugging my own stuff but you can not catch them all.

As they say... Build a better idiot trap, they'll make a better idiot...errr...something like that

I clicked on the "Change" link for the Brogues and it took me to the Sporran options page instead.
