First kilt...
After finally deciding to bite the bullet and spend the money, I ordered a khaki Amerikilt just after Christmas ... that hasn't arrived yet, but I expect it will shortly. In the meantime, I also ordered an Utilikilt Survival... that was ordered last Friday and in my mail on Monday morning. Talk about speedy shipping!
After seeing how it fit on me (pretty darn well, but an inch less in the waist wouldn't hurt), I wandered around my bunkroom for a bit, then decided to face the world head on and headed for the mall and work.
Lunch and some shopping at the mall, and while I noticed a few double-takes and a couple strange looks, the only comment I got was a "nice kilt!" from a lady I happened past.
Then it was to work, and an afternoon of fairly good-natured ribbing. So far so good.
Wore it again today, and again the ribbing at work, but a trooper stopped in and mentioned that their pipe band members told him they'd wear kilts all the time if they could... that rather quieted the ribbing in a hurry.
So far so good, and I'm debating how much of my tax refund is going to be buying kilts... :-D

Good for you...you took the plunge.
As several X'smarksers have said, those positive comments more than make up for any ribbing you'll get from your buddies or anyone else...kilt on!
Best

It is not unusual for the ladies to comment in the positive Most of the negitive comes from males that are not sure of their masclinity. I am glad this outing was good. Be ready for the bad. It WILL come

First off from Whitby, Ontario, Canada.
Second, Wow you really dove in with both feet good for you, it sounds to me that you can more than handle the ribbing, my experience is that the joking will die down as people around you get used to you in a kilt.
Good on ya!

Don't worry about the comments. I hardly get any of them any more and the ones I do get (except from my wife) are all positive. Friends will give me a ribbing but I know deep down they are just jealous.
