kilt to work
I broke down and wore a kilt to work yesterday. I own the company, so no problem there, but I was a little worried about how some of the clients may take it. A couple of the younger guys around the office whistled, but most only nodded or gave a thumbs up. A couple of the guys were very complimentary, but ALL the women found it great! One even made a comment about me having to leave her office for she was becoming " a little bothered!" I met some clients and peers for lunch at a local resturant, and all was received very well. Overall, it was a very positive experience and I plan to do it more often. For the record, I wore a SWK in Black Watch, dark green hose, a black twill shirt, and black leather belt and sporran. Overall, it was a smart outfit if I do say so myself. Next time maybe the Geoffrey tailor in Clan Dunbar may come out!

Congrats! I'm convinced that more kilts at work will mean more kilts!
A colleague of mine and I had briefly discussed having a kilt day while I was on leave, but since I've been back, I've worn a kilt every day to work, so he joked that he didn't have to arrange anything--whenever he wanted to wear his, he could be assured that it would be a kilt day because I'd always be wearing one of mine!

Hey, Hey! That is a nice story!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Awesome. I was just thinking last night "I wonder how it would go over if I wore a kilt to work?". Then again, I work at a service station... I might get it a little dirty.

Get a black work kilt of some kind. Made from canvas. Or hemp.

Probably what I'll do. Either that or after I upgrade to a SWK I'll just wear the old one for work and play.

always helps with the dress code if you own the company. Great to see that most everyone enjoyed your wearing the kilt.

Good show. I am convinced that most of the trouble is in our heads and not real.
There are exceptions, of course, but for the most part my experiences are always positive.

Good show indeed, and welcome to the rabble. There are several of us over here in Asheville..if you're ever out this way give us a shout. Any excuse for a kilted invasion of the local pub!
