    Tipping the scales

Yesterday for me was a small landmark. I now have more kilts than trousers with the arrival of a Freedom of Scotland tartan item from mytartan.com. via ebay. It's a low cost one again, but very reasonably produced for the money.
Being currently only on a carer's allowance, and not on thousands a year, I have to make do.
The kilt's drop needed 2" reduction, and it's always the first thing I have to do before I can wear these off the peg ones.
I now have a Freedom of Scotland, Scottish National, Honour of Scotland, Black Watch, and two Sportkilts. Almost one for each day of the week.

Sounds like you need to keep on shopping....kilts are social garments, they love to "hang around" with lots of their fellow kilts.

    Congrats on the new kilt.
I myself got only one kilt yet. Itīs an inexpensive one from the heritage of scotland company. I know, they had bad comments, but I must say, that Iīm really happy with it.
An amazing fact by the way: When I ordered the kilt, I ordered the wrong size. The kilt that arrived, had stamped buckles and the apron fringe was not frayed- it simply looked cheap. I sent an email to them to exchange the kilt (not because of the cheap look, but because of my mistake concerning the size). I have to say that they reacted quickly and very gentle, and the exchange kilt was- surprise, surprise- a totally different one. Itīs got casted buckles and a frayed fringe. To me it seems to be a very decent value for the money (45GBP) It seems they got different kilts from different suppliers for the same price. So in my case it was a stroke of luck having ordered the wrong size.
Does anyone here has similar experiences?
    Regards
    Thomas

The Freedom of Scotland tartan looks nice on their Web site. I'd like to see pix of that one and Honour of Scotland, to get a better look at them.

Congratulations! You're now 3 kilts ahead of me, but I have 3 more on order, too. Color me "jones."

Here's the Freedom of Scotland tartan. Just off in it to the convenience store for some milk. I may be some time.

...and the Honour of Scotland...about the same but with blue instead of green.
