Kilt to Work
Hello all,
Just a little story to share today. I wore my SWK Irish National Tartan kilt to work today. I'm an Air Force instructor so I can't wear it all day. Response was good. Typical jokes from co-workers (we're all cynical and like to make fun of each other) and stares from some people. Overall, it was good experience and I'm glad I did it.
Just thought I'd share that one.

Good for you, Fletch. It gets easier and more fun all the time. Keep it up!. I'm a Federal employee kilted full-time at work.

Way to go cousin!
My grandfather, Murdoch Fletcher Macdonald, would be proud. His mama was a Fletcher out of Allegheny County, NY.

Good show, I almost always kilt to work. Feeling like a sissie today so I wore p*nts. Hopefully back to normal tomorrow. It's gotten to the point where they will ask me what happened to the kilts on these rare occasions that I voluntarily bifurcate.
I have a SWK economy in Irish National. Love it, and wish I had sprung for the standard. Maybe after me USAK......
Keep up the good kilting.

Thanks Riverkilt, perhaps we are truly cousins. My Fetchers lived in Blair/Bedford County Pa. I'll have to do some more research.
Thanks to all for the encouragement. I just have to learn to play the pipes so I can join the AF reserve pipe band. That way I can wear the kilt all the time. We actually have at least one piper coming to our AF ball next week. I might ask him if he can get me a kilt. Maybe I can get it issued to me.
I just need more kilts so I can wear one every day. Hmmm...

Wow, I knew the Air Force was lax on uniforms, but I never would have thought that, even they, would allow one to wear the kilt............
After all regs are regs...............no?

I only wore it to work. I changed into my uniform after I got there. I change in the afternoon for PT and I leave my uniform at work so I don't have have to tote it back and forth.
After seeing many Army people in there new uniforms and them wearing PT gear all day, the AF is not lax about uniforms.
