    Finally

    Hell-o all,

Just when you think you know everyone in your environs, someone comes to you with the words, "finally I get to meet the famous Kilt wearer" Gotta love it!

You gotta love that feeling. I was at a punk show (in pants) a couple weeks back, and some kids came up and said, "Hey, I recognize you from school. You're that guy that wears a kilt, right?"

Man, it sure does feel good.

I guess I'm not famous yet - but I do enjoy people's reactions. I live on the northside of Chicago, and even the gangbangers have been positive.

The husband of my mentor at work is the co-owner of a Indian-Middle Eastern fusion restaurant in town. One evening a friend and I were going to have dinner at a nearby restaurant, but I stopped in to see if my advisor was in (as she sometimes is, but not this particular evening). Though I was in jeans that evening, the husband recognized me as the one who - and here he also pantomimed, for he lacked the english word for kilts - "wears the skirts."

"Yep, that's me. Tell D_____ I said hello."

    Regards,
    Rex.
