    Furry brown sporran

I'm looking for a new sporran. There's a furry brown one at stillwater that I like. Anyone here have anything to say about it?

I have it and like it. It is good looking and well made for the money.

The good thing is that the metal caps and chains on the tassles and give it a bit more dressy look than leather straps.

The bad thing is that if your daughter comes up and grabs one of the tassles and pulls hard the chain will break (but it was easily fixed and did led to an interesting discussion about not playing with Daddy's tassles. )

    Cheers

I have one. It's not especially roomy, but it gets the job done, and looks good.

Well, it's a day sporran, not a dress sporran. Are you buying it for dress?

This type of sporran is more for dressy day occasions than formal wear. I am wearing something similar to it in my avatar, which should give you an idea of how it is worn.

Other than that, it is a pretty good deal. My mom bought me the one in my picture for way more than that 20 years ago.

I have the brown SWK bunny sporran. It's good for dressing up day wear. I had intended it to go with a day wear outfit I'm trying to put together, and the tassels on chains are a nice touch without being too fancy. The dark brown leather seems to be a little easier to find close color matches with kilt belts and shoes and all that.

Thanks for the quick reply guys, if I can bother you once more....

What's the strap like on it? Is the chain rough like the ones that come with cheaper sporrans? I worry about the chain fraying the kilt.

The chain isn't great or anything. If you want the chain, get a chain dog collar or two to replace the chain. I replaced my strap with a regular leather belt. The thing on the back of the SWK sporrans is big enough to fit a regular 3/4 dress belt through, and like I said, the color seems to be an easy one to find matches for.
