    Talking Amazing tartan windfall

My SWIMPAL was over visiting mom the other day and when she got home, she handed me a bag and said "Here, this is from Lynn(cousin), he thought you might want it."
She hadn't even looked in the bag and when I finally did, I was thrilled to find

8+ yards of real 30" Homespun Fraser hunting tartan.
Way back in the mid 1960's our local band of Fraser's commissioned a run of this heavy material through Campbell's House of Highland Tweed in Beauly. My uncle stashed this hunk away in a cedar chest way back then.
There are several 40 year old tanks from this same batch still around, one of which belongs to me.
Looks like I finally have a winter plaid!

Very nice, it's wonderful to have such a unique story behind it. Please remember to take photos when you have a kilt made from it.

I'm jealous. A tartan is so much more valuable with a little seasoning.

That is way cool. And I love the look of the tartan in this photo!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

That's GREAT! And, by coincidence, I absolutely adore the Fraser hunting tartan!

Wow! That's awesome. I love when things like that happen to me. I just wish it were more often. Congratulations and enjoy the tartan. It's beautiful. Don't forget to post pics of anything made with it.
