    Sam Browne belt

I was just looking at some pictures of a Sam Browne belt and I had a "flash", (which is much better than some of the "moments" I seem to have more frequently,).... the waist belt part would be great for the kilt and the shoulder part should be acceptable for use as a sporran strap. They seem to going for about $25 plus shipping on ebay. What are the thoughts and comments out there. I am sorely tempted to make the experiment.

for $25+shipping, you will get a nice kilt belt, even if the shoulder strap doesn't work as you intended. How can you go wrong?

I wore a Sam Browne for 32 yrs, and continue on occasion with the kilt. Not sure about the shoulder strap, I prefer just the belt. Chrome buckle.

I doubt the cross strap would work well as a sporran belt
