3 New Kilts added to The Kollection
First, an apology: I know I have been lax in posting photos over the past six weeks or so - kilted trip to France, ditto to California (+ Nevada and Arizona!), etc. - and this will be rectified as soon as each day is legitimately extended from 24 to 36 hours!
However, the point of this thread is to introduce you to kilts #96, #97 and #98 in The Kollection - and all of them were acquired during my recent two week stay in the USA.
The first two were awaiting my arrival in Palm Springs five weeks ago since I had pre-ordered them from Rocky and Kelly at USA Kilts. Both are in their Semi-Traditional range which I find just absolutely perfect for the heat of California (#69 and #70 were bought for the same reason two years ago). So here are the new ones:
#96 is in the 'Tara' or 'Murphy' tartan When I showed some indecision in making the selection, Rocky kindly gave me a push in this direction - and I am so glad he did. I love this tartan and it has received quite a number of compliments from strangers:

#97 is in the 'MacBeth Ancient' tartan. I wanted something bright, cheerful and summery for this visit to Southern California - and this tartan certainly meets my every requirement!

#98 is something different! A little while ago fellow X Marker, Gary (Wompet), very kindly offered me a kilt in his family tartan for The Kollection. The super Sackett tartan was commissioned by Gary from the supremely informed and talented Matt Newsome, and I am thrilled to have it. This kilt, handmade by Gary himself, was brought to me in Palm Springs by one who needs no introduction - Jamie (Panache) - and so, with so many good friends involved, this Sackett kilt is an especially important addition to my wardrobe/Kollection:

So, now that I have brought you up to date with the contents of The Kollection, I must try to find time to show you images from France and the south-western USA.
Take care,
Ham.

Congratulations Ham
It's nice that Rocky pushed you in that direction, always trust your kilt maker, as for the MacBeth Ancient, it certainly fits the bright and summery bill as you say, and it looks smashing. The Sackett tartan is lovely having seen Gary's I must say it is one that really needs to be seen up close. Congratulations on them all again Ham. Looking forward to the photos from your adventures.

Ham,
You are quite lucky that I have yet to attain my full mature waistline, otherwise I am not so sure the lovely Sackett tartan kilt would have made it to Palm Springs!
Marvelous additions to the Kollection
Cheers

Not just quantity, but quality! They're all sharp, but the Tara very much so. It might be time to start thinking about how to commemorate the century mark.

Three superb kilts there Hamish.
The MacBeth Ancient seems unusually bright for an "ancient" tartan.
The Sackett tartan looks particularly smart and your co-ordination of green and brown accessories works especially well.

You look smashing in your kilts! I really like the Tara, I have it in a casual from Rocky, but seeing the semi traditional, I might have to get it too. It's good to see how much you enjoy your kilts, by that big smile in every picture. Thank you for sharing.

Very nice Hamish. I am not sure I would go with the MacBeth Ancient in my collection, as it is a little to bright for me with colors (mainly the yellow) that look horrible on me, but you pull it off incredibly well. The Tara and the Sackett, however, are right up my alley.
I like two things about your pictures:
1. You always coordinate well and make the outfits look great. You take a good looking kilt and make it look just dashing.
and
2. You always look like you are having fun in your kilt. I have yet to see a picture of you in a kilt with the hum-drum 'here I am, take a picture' look on your face. (I am a amature photographer, I hate the look). You always have a huge smile and posture that yells 'Yes, I am in a kilt and I love it!'
Always an inspiration Hamish. Thank you.
