My sister had her baby about midnight last night!

Woo Hoo!

We were worried that she'd have the baby while we were on vacation, but she was considerate enough to wait until we were back.

I've been looking forward to this niece a long time, but Jamie and I had pretty much given up on any of our siblings producing until my sister announced her change of heart in the children department.

Now we are an aunt and uncle-looking forward to meeting her this weekend.

Wonderful news, congratulations to your sister, I trust Mother and Child are doing well. As an Uncle I guess I should say welcome to the club, the really nice thing about being an Uncle is you can wind them up and then leave them to the parents. But I'm sure you won't do that.

You have to be careful though. It's a known fact that aunts and uncles are a soft touch. This exchange actually happened to me:

Nephew: Can I have (whatever it was)?

My Brother: Do you have any money?

Nephew: Uncle Dave does.
