    Bagpipe Litho

If this is in the wrong place please move sorry.
I ran across this at a second hand store http://www.darvillsrareprints.com/im...bagpipes-c.jpg of course I do not know if it is real but it had handwritten at the bottom margin what the instruments were and the illustrator's name(William Gibb) with the year I think 1888 and the copy number something like 28/500. Should I bite for $8? The frame old looking, no glass, the tape holding the litho to the mat quite yellow.

How big is the print? If it's poster-size and there's no damage to the print, then yes, you should buy it and send it to me, and I'll pay you for it and the shipping. If you're feeling really greedy, you'll have a nice piece of artwork to hang on your wall.

Even if it is a modern print, for $8 you cant go too far wrong... of course having it mounted, matted and re-framed will probably add on a few more bucks, but if you like it (and have some place to hang it) buy it. The odds are you won't see another one, ever.

Well, I went back and low and behold it was half price picture day. I had a saw buck in my pocket so I popped. The frame is missing the glass and has a damage corner, so it will need to be replaced. The mat is high quality and I will keep it as is, the litho has a finger mark, what can you expect for being in a pile of pictures without glass. Other than that it is stunning. It is the larger plate 11 X 16, the only thing that has raised my eyebrows is the pencil writing on the bottom margin. Most of my research has these writing, but mine doesn't match the research. The number is 4/50 a very small run for this print and the name William Gibb has a erase mark. Under a glass it looks like the name is simply written over again. The last thing is the date is 1838 not 1888. Now I am not a art expert, nor have I ever played one one tv,
so I don't know if I would try to sell or barter it. but it is quite nice.
