Re: Willie McCallum wins Bratach Gorm
I did the 3 hour drive down to London early Saturday, To be fair I only went for the piobaireachd with so many of pipings top pipers in attendance it was just too good to miss, my only real complaint with the day was the lack of announcements when a piper comes into the room, OK Gordon, Roddie and Willie need no introduction however, if as I was going between rooms 4 of them, it was difficult to keep track of who's who and what tune each of them where playing(a list of tunes was not available as some competitions had a choice of 6 different tunes to pick from). A minor point but still a tad annoying
If you like piping this is like having it on Max strength full on all day
Due to a evening family function i set of after about 5 hours of wall to wall piping, my ears are still ringing
Got down to the car and paid for the parking, now i know that London is expensive BUT £25 for 5 hours just daylight robbery!
Next year I will go for the whole day but bring some ear plugs
If you are in London when the Bratach is on I really do recommend it

I spent time with Matt in the afternoon and in the evening, he was in fine spirits despite not picking up any medals.
If anyone is ever interested in The Bratach, the SPSL are always looking for kilted stewards. You will get free admission, free food and drink and the chance to meet the world's top pipers, as well as the immense gratitude of the SPSL committee.

Wonderful! He was a wee bit concerned about Gordy making passes at his lady friend, Rebecca...hahaha! Apparently, ole' Gordy went after Matt's sister, Molly, a few years back at the Bratach!
What can I say, that's Gordon Walker for you...great lad!
Cheers,
