Never Thought I'd See The Day!
So I open my post office box this afternoon and there is a fly announcing this year's conference of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers in Denver this October. The conference has the theme of "Reaching New Heights" and a photo shows four people hiking in the mountains. One hiker is wearing a KILT!

What's so wonderful is that sex offenders on probation are given STRICT rules about how they can dress and I never dreamed kilts would be allowed for obvious reasons.
A pic on a conference announcement doesn't change the rules for those probationers but it "seems" to show a more open attitude and acceptance of kilts as attire for men by those who are well versed in sex offender behaviors.
Or am I overly optimistic and its just a pic of a guy in shorts wearing his shirt around his waist....???

Doesn't look overly kiltlike to me. I used to wear a windcheater/kagool tied round my waist while hiking. Looks similar.

Agree, jacket upside down and tied to waist.

Yeah, that's a guy wearing shorts with a jacket tied around his waist. You can see the light colored zipper down the middle. That's what I do with my windbreaker when hiking.

Zipper? Was hoping it was the line of a tartan...oh well...

definitely a nylon wind cheater. If you zoom in you can see the hood and a draw string & toggle hanging down behind him

Re: Never Thought I'd See The Day!
Ron,
Am I correct in assuming it is a conference for treatment providers, not for clients? If so, I would also assume that the people in the photo would be representative of the intended audience for the convention not the clients they serve. A "Come attend our conference in Colorado and hike in beautiful country like this while your here" kind of photo.
At a glance it does look like a guy in a kilt though, I can certainly see why you thought that.

Sorry, Ron. I would agree with the others. That happens a LOT when hiking around here and up in Rocky Mountain Nat Park.

I'm sure that guy is in violation of some kind of rule - even if it is getting Ron's hopes up.
