What are you listening to?
Greetings all,
Just realized as I was doing taxes, weaving on my Inkle loom and doing some kilt sewing that I had a bit of a mix of music going. Having programmed music for public radio I have amassed a large mix of cds and vinyl to enjoy. Ive converted maybe a 10th of my cds to MP3 for ease of listening over the pc. Well today took me over a few musical genres today. What are you listening to while you sew a kilt, work on a sporran, cook, sit and sip scotch or generally go about your weekend of ease.
Todays playlist included:
Ofra Haza from Yemenite Jewish origin singing from a best of album
Celtic Thunder
Franco & Rochereau from Democratic Republic of Congo album Omona Wapi
Orchestra Baobab from Senegal and Pirates Choice album
Alla Rakha and Zakir Hussain
Edith Piaf
Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong
Khadja Nin from Burundi
The Greencards
And more... so what are you listening to

My daughter and I listened to The Best of Billy Idol played at MAXIMUM volume as we thundered down the road in our V-8 Mustang convertible on our way home from the Tartan Day at the historic Ardenwood Farm.
Cheers

As usual, I have quite an eclectic list. Starting with Iron Butterfly, The Doors, Gordon Lightfoot, Willie Nelson, Dropkick Murpheys, Susan Boyle, John Phillip Sousa, and Enya.

I listen to everything. Except rap (with the exception of Will Smith, the Beastie Boys, and Anthrax (who's da man)).
Classic rock, metal, classical, Motown, big band, martial music, some country, some punk, some new wave, and my wife and son (who are both far more cool than I) keep my ipod loaded with the current hot bands.
When I'm on a project though, I tend to go to what relaxes me. Celtic Woman/Thunder, Earth Wind and Fire, G. Lightfoot, Neil Diamond, Amy MacDonald (Scottish girl who I can't get enough of), that kind of stuff. An old favorite that I can't find on CD is Roger Whittaker.
When driving, if my ipod dies, I generally just put the radio on scan. Continuous 6 second bits of whatever is on generally amuses me.

The Saturday evening ritual of The House of Hair, with Dee Snider. That's turned down very low, and I've been reading a book.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…
