    Tartan???

It may be the 6 pack of tennent's super that gives me this courage but, here goes, I DON'T REALLY LIKE TARTAN , that's why I currently own a black wool, a marine cammo 8) , and a really posh 16oz 8yrd pinstripe, teflon coated 8) , dead smart, but no tartans. The next kilt is gonna be a cordorouy, thats after the wife's, and I have to say a tartan kilt is the last on my list. There, thats it, it's off my chest, I'm not fussed about tartan or Scotland, I like kilts and the attitude needed to wear them. That's it, although I think I ought to have a McLaren, just to keep the faith.
    Thats my confession
    Cheers Rhino

A kilt is a garment type, not a fabric. I like tartan but the fabrics aren't the important thing, the style is

First, I'm jealous, I can't buy Tennents here, used to but not any more.

I love tartan, I have a passion for them, I love them all.
The sad reality of life is that not everyone has my impeccible taste

If you love to wear a plain kilt, that's great. You still enjoy the health and freedom of a kilt even if you miss the rich heritage and colour of the tartan!!

    Have one for me!

    Hi Graham
I feel like I've had one for everyone this morning, and on re reading my post, I realised I didn't make it clear about Scotland, I love the place and people, it's just I'm not into the heritage bit, tho' I'm sure at least 2 grandparents would give me grief if they heard that.

I like plain and tartan kilts. I like the look of the UK in plain earthy colours. Cammo kilts would be fine also. I would hate a denim kilt.

BUT. I prefer plain kilts on other folk. I think you either suit them or you don't. Having tried a few on last weekend I'm not sure a plain kilt is me.

Having said that, I haven't entirely dismissed the idea of a charcoal grey wool TFCK. However I think tha Scottish Rugby Union tartan kilt I mentioned is calling me.

Not everyone gets excited about that. I do generally find that as you get older you tend to think about your roots more.[/list]
