Updating papers
I'm in the process or reviewing, correcting and updating some of my older papers, especially those where I have significant new information. Those with an interest might want to review the links occasionally. alternatively I could post an update alert each time if that were easier? For example, I've recently revised the papers on:
Dunblane
MacDonald of Borrodale
Sett Sticks
plus added a new one recently on the Bed Hangings from Culloden House

What a thrill to follow your explorations of the origins of the different tartans. You have well thought out explanations which are logical, taking into account human nature. That is what makes your storyline more plausible.
And who said history is dull! Not the way you tell the stories. Please continue to update us - it is fascinating information!
Thank you, Peter!

Now, Peter, comes the next question: is there any chance that a fresh weave will be made of either the original Royal Company of Archers tartan or of the MacDonald of Borrodale?
The Archers tartan might not get very far (perhaps an experimental weave only), but I should imagine that a good many MacDonalds (perhaps yourself included?) would like to wear the Borrodale sett in the colours you have so painstakingly recovered.
Regards,
Mike

Well, all things are possible. Other than academic interest I don't see much mileage for the Archers' tartan, even amongst current Archers. On the other hand, I would have thought that the Borrodale would have much more appeal. Anyone interested? Perhaps I'll take that on when I've cleared the current batch of reweaves including; MacDonald of Kingsburgh, 42nd per Wilsons' 1819 Coarse kilt setting, and the original 79th setting and shades. My son is getting married in early 2016 and I'm looking to get us both new kilts in something original. I'm quite taken by the Glenaladale but need to discuss with No1 first.
