Blue shirt with Navy argyll jacket?
Greetings.
I'm attending a Robbie Burns dinner next weekend. I was planning to wear a white dress shirt with my new navy blue argyll jacket and vest, with navy or black straight necktie. The kilt is Ramsay blue.
Alas, my shirt looks a little big - I must have lost some weight?!?!?
I would prefer to not have the "I borrowed this shirt from my dad for the prom" look. I don't have any other white shirts with French cuffs, so I was thinking of wearing one in a light, subtle blue.
Yes? No?
The dinner will be 95% rented kilts, so I don't think anyone will be offended or anything. But on the other hand, I want to look good.
I guess my concern is that a coloured shirt would make it look too casual.
Am I overthinking this?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
