Another Kilt Junkie Signing On
Sorry, I can't figure out how to get a photo small enough for the litte picture. I did figure out the gallery and have some pics in my personal gallery.
Still struggling to navigate this board, learning curve time. Was referred by Steve at Freedom Kilts. He's working on a Cadpat and a desert camo for me.
My name's Ron Macdonald, my ancestors go back to Skye by way of Nova Scotia. My grandfather Murdoch still had the brogue. Last spring I saw three Utilikilts at the Renaissance Faire in Phoenix. Looked up the site, then waited a few months to finally take the plunge with a UK camo original. Took 11 weeks to get it, but its here and I love it. Since have a tan UK original and am waiting for, gasp, the black leather UK.
Tried a Macdonald tartan from Sportkilt with a sash but the sash was only 66" long and both reeked of cigarette smoke.
Gave Amerikilts a try, have a black one. Liked them so well I ordered a tiger stripe, putty, and forest AK. Waiting on them. Also getting a tan AK "sporran" to be able to do a contrasting color look.
And, I'm also waiting for two Pittsburgh kilts, the forest and the deset Marpats.
Kind of a heady rush for an old guy (60 in 11 days) who just got his first kilt in August. Think that will be 12 total, six of them camos.
I live in Page, Arizona on Lake Powell and the Colorado River. So far, other than the usual good natured teasing from jealous friends the comments have all been positive. I seem to be pioneering kilts around town, have handed out a bunch of UKs cards.
So, back to figuring out how to do that little picture and navigate the board.

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."
