    15th(Scottish)/9th(Scottish)

I remember somebody here is connected to a re-enactors association of one of these divisions. If memory serves, the re-enactors are US based.
Question: is there any US link for this? In a rough sense, some Canadian highland troops were part of these, US were independant, roughly attached to France and not to any (Scottish) division.
    Fill me in, please.

That would probably be me, Archangel. I have a friend who was a member in North Carolina:

Or possibly me, who reenacts 2nd Argyll and Sutherland, part of the 15th Div. (scottish)...

    Try our site:

    Hope that helps.

still not the why or the connection to US. Is there a connection?

correction/note: Cameron link says kilts out in late WW2, actually out during Dunkirk, at beginning. Cameron's last official use, though. We're talking official not Mad Major, etc.

re: sten gun, according to street clearing veteran of WW2, so unreliable it was used like a grenade. tossed into room with clip and impact on floor would set it off, wouldn't stop till empty.

To my knowledge, the US military has no connection to the 15th Div...Is this what you were looking for? If not, please clarify...

    Actually, yes.

One never knows why people get involved in re-enactments, usually for good reasons. Sometimes there's a real link sometimes it's just kindred spirits.
As I'm following some of the other posts, there have been many links between regiments brought to light.

I have a mercenary reason for asking. I'm in the germ stage of developing a small business and the theme will be the 15th or the 9th. (and it will be honouring, Sav, you can monitor me on that, heck, me mum will put the boot in if I disrespect them.) I'm having trouble finding an honest, clear tie-in to the US which, frankly, is where the money really is. There are indirect and neutral links that can work, some WW2 links, but the theme should not go past 1940.

I'll have some product soon, there's a little bit of legal stuff left and we've spent way too much at the last couple of Celtic/Scottish festivals.

I know, I know, I spent all my money on women, motorcycles, guitars and kilts. The rest, I squandered.
