From the very beginning: I need advice!
By a miracle, a woman has agreed to marry me next year, and now I get to finally pay tribute to my heritage by being married in a kilt.
Now begins my voyage, I plan to build a webpage to explain to other newbies what to do stage by stage.
I hope you all will bear with me and provide me with as much guidance as possible.
While I am not personally a slave to rules (especially in fashion) it is important to me that for this event, I do things absolutely "by the book" if that's possible.
OK, here's question number 1:
Starting at the top of the head and going to the soles of the feet, leaving nothing out, what precisely should I be wearing to my wedding?

roflmao, especially since we started at the top of my head.
To be honest, it's the poor girl who should be running, I think she must be brain-injured, but there we are.

Well, start with a nice head of hair, if that's your thing, a Prince Charlie and a tuxedo shirt, a dress sporan, a tank kilt, oh, don't forget a proper vest, proper hose, flashes, and some ghillies.
I think that covers it.
Of course, you could go a slightly different direction and get married in a great kilt and really strip down and simplify things.

You left out the bow tie. A nice kilt pin is also good. Another nice touch would be a fly plaid in the same tartan as your kilt, with a nice brooch.

What An Incredible Thread!!
Hank, have you thought about opening up a new forum topic -Kilted Weddings? Think it would fly and centralize the info for those in need.
Murray....from the top of your head....LET YOUR HAIR GROW....unless you're starting from a buzz cut, let your hair get some length...don't cut it until a few days before the ceremony....get a nice Scottish look
