Modern Sgian Dubhs
I think I recall seeing a post here about a well-known knife company making a modern or "tactical" sgian dubh. I did a search and could not find it. Anyone know what I'm talking about here?

Cold Steel. http://www.coldsteel.com/60ce.html
Cold Steel make great knives. They are one of the only tacticals I recommend to my clients. Price tag is high but you get what you pay for.
In case you want to referrence whether on not I know what I'm talking about:

Cool stuff, Bil.
I have been doing martial arts since 1981, Did TKD all thru high school and dabbled in Aikido & Kenpo along the way.
I trained in Kali/Silat/JKD over several years at MN Kali Group, also racked up a lot of seminar hours with Inosanto/Vunak/Hartsell/etc. That was where I first saw a sarong used as a weapon.
I will be taking in a Bill McGrath stick & knife seminar (Filipino Pekiti Tersia style) this fall.
I have been doing Kosen Ju-Jitsu for the last 7 years, we do lots of law enforcement training at our school, lots of fun. We had a prison guard there who was a bagpiper.

You might have been thinking of the earlier Culloden model which Cold Steel offered. I liked it a lot but the fit up of the handle seemed cheap and sloppy so I never bought one. I kept waiting for them to improve on it but theydiscontinued it and offered the folder Bil refers to.
I'm sort of hoping with the discussions here that they will reconsider.

Wow. At $350.00 U.S. there is no chance I'll ever own one of those. Maybe it's just me, but that price seems far out of line even considering the titanium parts.

you know, I never even looked at the price before, it wasn't what I wanted. That's an outrageous price for a factory knife. I couldn't justify that.
Their previous model, the fixed blade, skean dhu, Culloden, was less than $US50 if I remember correctly. I thought that was pushing it.
