    Late night shw mae.

Not new tae kilts, or wearing them, but never owned one meself.

Thus do I end up here... Looking tae have one on order by the end of the year, and here fer advice on what I should be looking fer in one, also what kind I should be getting as I would hate tae be de-flowered by any old thing afterall.

Been trolling the board here for a few days, figured I might as well sign up.

    Indeed Welcome

    Hey Canuck,

There are two shops in Calgary from which you could buy a tradition (or pseudo-traditional kilt): the Scottish Shoppe, which is on 4th street just south of down town or the Highland Gift Shop, which is perched on the hillside next to the ski jumps at Paskapoo (ie. Canada Olympic Park). Either place will get you a kilt conforming to all the rules and run you between $400 to $800 or more. I bought mine at the Highland Gift Shop. Next time you are in Cowtown, you should drop by one or both of the shops.

I don't think I would order a traditional kilt online (at least not my first one) as it seems best to have someone who knows how do the measuring.

The Highland Shop also carries casual kilts in Black Watch and Royal Stewart for $149. Not too bad looking for a casual kilt. The owner of the shop is incredibly nice to deal with, too. I've bought a few things from them this year, and I'm on the list for one of their PC jackets when they sell off the rentals later this fall.

    Casual Calgary kilts?

Wow, that's new since I was in there. $149. I think I might soon be in trouble with the wife.

Hehehehehehe! I know that feeling well. Luckily I already have a Black Watch kilt (Bear Kilts), and I don't like the Royal Stewart tartan, so I should be ok. For now.
