Kilted Category on Jeopardy
I was watching Jeopardy (an american game show) today and was surprised to see a category all about kilts. I can't remember the name of the category, but some of the questions dealt with Prince Charles, Royal Stewart tartan and Sir Walter Scott convincing King George IV to wear the kilt. All that and not a single sk**t joke from Alex Trebek. I was impressed. Perhaps the mainstream media really is starting to catch on.

I can see the answer now
"What sort of guys wear kilts?"
The question is "What are smart looking gentlemen Alex?"
That is great to hear Shane, thanks for letting us know.

What is the correct answer auld argonian?
It seems like the kilt is quite well excepted in Canada. Maybe it is because we still see one every formal ceremony, we have kilted regiments still, and the Scots helped shape this country into what it is (read Great Scots! by Matthew Shaw). No matter which province I go to, I always end up seeing at least a kilt or two.
Glad to hear that such a widely viewed show took a positive approach to kilts.

Oh, I would fully expect that any Red Blooded Canadian would most certainly NOT make any disparaging remarks re the kilt!
Not only out of that remarkable Canadian sense of civility that I have come to admire but also because of the deep vein of Scottishness that runs through Canadian History.
Just check out the Montreal Flag: a shamrock, a rose, a thistle and a fleur-di-lis...
I'll bet that, if we dug deep enough, we'd find a photo of ol' Alex in a kilt somewhere...and if we dug any deeper, we might find one of that other great Canadian contribution to the world of entertainment, William Shatner...oops...too deep!

HAHAHAHAHA I can't even begin to imagine Shatner in a kilt. Not if we could find one of Wayne Gretzky in a kilt.......
